Supreme Chili

Chili Recipe - 3.5 of 5 heat level

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 85% - 90% lean
  • 1 lb steak (chuck or round) cut into 1/2 in pieces
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 1 large green pepper(diced)
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2x28oz cans of crushed tomatoes
  • 2x15oz cans of unsalted diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbls cumin
  • 3 (ONLY 3 individual) canned chipotles in adobo diced + all adobo sauce
  • 2 tbls kosher salt
  • 2 tbls of veg oil
  • 1 cup of water

Directions

  1. Heat oil in pot and brown the steak, set aside
  2. Brown ground beef then set aside leaving juices in pot
  3. Brown the sausage, set aside leaving 3 tbls of fat
  4. On medium-high heat, saute onion/pepper/garlic until just soft
  5. Add all the meat and season with salt and cumin, then mix. Cook 2 min
  6. Add chipotles and adobo sauce, mix
  7. Add water, crushed and diced tomatos, mix well
  8. Bring to rapid bubbling the turn heat to low and simmer for 2 hours uncovered

This tastes WAAAAYYYYY better if allowed to sit overnight
