Lasagna
From Auntie's Cook Book
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of ground meat (85/15 preferred) - beef or turkey
- 32oz Ricotta Cheese
- 2 lbs block mozzerella (shredded)
- 2x24oz jars of tomato sauce or 1 batch of Marinara Sauce
- 2 eggs(beaten)
- 1 tbsp fresh oregano
- 1 tbsp fresh basil
- Ancestral Seasoning
- 9 pieces of oven-ready lasagna noodles
Directions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees
- Brown and season meat as per ancestors
- Add 2 cups of sauce to meat and warm through, set aside
- Add ricotta to bowl, add oregano basil and beaten egg. Mix and set aside
- Add 1/2 cup of sauce to bottom of baking dish
- Lay 3 noodles across mixure
- Spread 1/4 cup of ricotta mixure on each noodle, spred the entire length of noodle
- Spread 1/2 cup of meat sauce across entire layer
- Sprinkle 2 heaping handfulls of mozzerella on top of sauce
- Repeat steps 7-9, two more times
- Cover with foil, bake in oven for 25 min
- Remove foil, bake for an additional 5 min
- Remove from oven, let sit 15 min
