Cheese Grits
From Auntie's Cook Book
Ingredients
- 1 cup grits
- 2 cups vegetable or chicken stock
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk (half and half for extra creaminess)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (about a handful)
- 1 tsp salt
Directions
- Bring water, stock and salt to a boil
- Add milk, bring to boil again (you could add milk in the beginning, but watch for boil-over)
- Add grits, stir
- Cook for 15 minutes, stirring periodically to prevent sticking to bottom
- Add cheese and stir to combine
